GTO
Volume 1
GTO- The Legend Begins
The first glimpse of Eikichi is at a public mall where he is casually looking up
the skirts of some young girls riding the escalators. His mischief is soon
spotted by a couple of scruffy looking guys. They approach him and after they
scold him tell him that if he doesn’t give up his wallet then they are going to
beat him up and then call the police. Calmly, Eikichi slams his hand through the
side of a nearby public phone and slowly extracts the wire innards, leaving the
two boys shocked. He then asks them who they think is going to get beat up, a
guy with at second degree black belt or them. Soon he is interrupted by his best
friend, Ryuji and as he runs off, we see he has beat up the two guys and took
their money. He jumps on Ryuji’s motorcycle and, as Eikichi is late for his
first day of student teaching, they swerve through the streets. As they ride
along the discussion begins of their past. They both came to Tokyo together 6
years prior and now Ryuji manages a store and Eikichi is beginning this student
teaching. Eikichi is excited about this new experience, especially about the
innocent young girls he will be meeting. His excitement causing him to drive
faster and more recklessly, he soon gets a ticket. Later, Eikichi arrives at
Musashi-No-Kita High School. Of course he sees only the girls as he walks into
the school grounds. Right off the first female student he meets reduces him a
perverted maniac and he immediately turns on the charm as he gazes at the girl
that is clad in a skimpy PE uniform of bloomers and T-shirt. As the girl runs
off, Eikichi meets another students teacher. The sexy Hideo Osawa tells Eikichi
that this is his third time doing his student teaching. When questioned he
explains that he got caught fooling around with some of the female students. Of
course Eikichi falls at his feet begging for Osawa to teach him his techniques.
The bell rings, breaking up their discussion and Eikichi goes off with a
homeroom teacher to meet the class he will be teaching. Shock is all that can
describe Eikichi’s reaction to the students in the class. It seems there are
mostly delinquent boys in the room and the few girls look like they are ugly
high school repeats. When Eikichi attempts to introduce himself one student
approaches and holds his hand out to shake. Thinking the kid is trying to be
friendly, he holds out his hand to return the gesture. The kid, instead of
shaking, gets in his face and Eikichi backs up. The class explodes with laugher
and encouragement to the student who has been dubbed the leader of harassing
student teachers. Eikichi gets mad and the students mock him with threats to
tell on him if he gets violent. The next day, Eikichi attempts to teach but no
one seems to be paying attention. When he makes a mistake the students pick up
on it and make fun of him. He tries to continue by asking a question and he is
surprised when the young girl he met his first day raises her hand to answer.
She introduces herself as Nanako Mizuki and wishes him to call her Nana.
Eikichi’s fantasy world is restored as he writes Teacher Banzai across the
board. With renewed spirit, Eikichi relays his “successful” day to his best
friend Ryuji. Ryuji tried to caution him that because of his background, he may
not be teacher material. As Eikichi walks home later, he runs into an upset
Mizuki. She claims she has run away from home and asks to stay at his place.
They go back to his apartment where she makes him sukiyaki while Eikichi runs
around the background in a wolf suit setting up for a seduction. When Mizuki
tells him her problems with her parents and he quickly comes to his senses.
Mizuki then tells him she just wants to be free from their control and throws
herself at him. Before he can decide whether or not to be a teacher or take
advantage of the situation she stands up and undresses down to her underwear and
bra. She then moves in on a shocked Eikichi. But nothing can compare to the
shock of a group of boys from his class that burst into the room with camera
flashing. They tell him that he has one weeks to pay a million yen or they will
show the pictures and ruin his chance to become a teacher. Before she goes,
Eikichi asks Mizuki if she really needed help or was she just lying the whole
time. She responds that he is stupid because she would never go to a teacher for
help. Later, the delinquent boys relax in a nearby park where they joke around
and talk about what happened. When a lone guy on a motorcycle starts revving his
bike the boys, angered threaten him. The Silver Fly Trio from Kichijoji East, as
they call themselves, are soon in over their heads as more bikers arrive. The
biker gang’s leader approaches them unforgivingly but is interrupted by a
commotion behind him. Eikichi is knocking a group of bikers down as they attempt
to confront him. The three boys say his name and it is overheard by the leader
of the gang. He realized who the Eikichi is and immediately calls everyone off
and bows before him. He tells everyone that Eikichi is from the legendary
Onibaku gang from Shonan and that he destroyed the legendary Midnight Angel. The
three boys, relieved, run to their teacher only to find out that he isn’t there
to help them. Instead he is there hunting them down. Minutes later, the three
boys find themselves tied together and suspended upside down in the water of the
park’s pond. The gang helps Eikichi dunk them in the water of Inokashira Park
while the three beg him not to kill them. Eikichi threatens them with a few more
tortures they can perform and then keeps torturing them so that they come to an
understanding. Teachers have feelings too. Later, after he lets the boys go,
Eikichi meets up with Ryuji and tells him the story. He is now worried that he
will be kicked out of student teaching. While a group of yakuza scouts eye
Eikichi from a nearby table, Ryuji tries to cheer him up. He then is left to get
Eikichi home after he tries to drink his sorrows away. As Eikichi attempts to
wallow in his bad luck, Ryuji berates him, Eikichi the Evil, for showing
weakness and then bullies him into going back. The next day Eikichi arrives
expecting to be asked to leave and he is soon confronted by his assigned
homeroom teacher mentor. As Eikichi listens expecting the worst, he is instead
shocked as the teacher praises him on his good work. It seems that the boys
volunteered to clean up the school in his honor. All of the delinquent student
line up to greet Eikichi and the teacher says the principal is ready to offer
him a job. At the end of this great day, Eikichi walks to his bike and finds
Mizuki sitting on the back. Still upset over her part in the setup, Eikichi asks
her to get off the bike. She does temporarily, but only to pull off her
underwear and jump back on the bike offering Eikichi a “token” to take her home.
Unable to refuse the possibility the wind will lift her skirt, Eikichi takes her
home. When they arrive, Eikichi sees first hand how rich she is. But soon he
finds that Mizuki isn’t really happy with her life. She throws away an entire
plate of expensive sushi and then laughs it off as she asks Eikichi to take her
for another ride. As it gets late, Mizuki starts asking if she can stay the
night at his place. Attempting to ignore her by talking about sushi, he finally
gets annoyed enough and tells her no. At that, she literally jumps off the bike
as they are speeding along. Luckily, Eikichi’s biker experience comes in handy
as he turns quickly and snatches her out of midair. As they both recover, Mizuki
from the scare of what she did and Eikichi from his anger, she tells him about
how her family used to live in a small apartment. Her family was happy but then
they got better jobs and they moved into a bigger house. Then her parents got
separate rooms and stopped talking to each other. She also told him that she
hated the thick wall that separated her parents rooms. Eikichi tells her that
she cant live in the past and takes off, leaving her to get herself home. Mizuki
goes home to her lonely and miserable life. Her parents get home and begin to
fight but are soon interrupted by a knock at the door. Eikichi walks right into
their house uninvited, shirtless and holding a huge sledgehammer. Mizuki’s dad
tries to stop him but Eikichi just shrugs him off and walks upstairs to their
bedrooms. He asks Mizuki if this was the wall she told him about and with her
nod of confirmation he begins to bust it down. He doesn’t stop until he breaks
through to the other room. He then leaves as Mizuki stops her mother from
talking to the police on the phone. Soon it is the last day of school but Mizuki
isn’t present in class. As Eikichi gets ready to leave he finds a letter from
Mizuki. She tells him that her family is spending more time together and
although her parents went back to not talking to each other once the hole was
fixed she is determined to break through the wall in their hearts. Exiting the
school, Eikichi is called to from the top floor of the building. Mizuki yells
down to him that she will remain a virgin and wait for him. Seeing that Eikichi
isn’t taking her seriously, she gets up on the edge of the walkway and exposes
herself to him. Her panties drift down to land on Eikichi’s face and she tells
him to be sure to become a teacher.
