Lupin: The very name made the Sureté of France shudder, as the gentleman thief again and again made of a mockery of their attempts to capture him. Now, in the twentieth century, the third generation of the infamous line is alive and well... in Japan. This time, he has a few more sidekicks: Jigen Daisuke, his gun-toting partner, Ishikawa Goemon, the master swordman and descendant of Japan's 17th century version of Robin Hood, and Mine Fujiko, Lupin's on again/off again lover and comrade-in-arms. On their tail constantly is the relentless Inspector Zenigata of Interpol, whose lineage also boasts a famous inspector in Japanese history.

Characters and situations were created by Monkey Punch, and has spawned several OAV's and feature-length movies, a TV series, and even a live-action show.
